Ensure that export of defence-related material from Norway complies with Norwegian security and defence policy,
and that exports of dual-use goods do not contribute to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (nuclear, chemical and biological weapons) or their means of delivery.
What does export control entail for UiA?
Transfer of knowledge is comprised by the legislation. This may affect education programmes, Masters and PhD level supervision and research collaborations. UiA must therefore make concrete assessments of applicants for positions and studies in some subject areas.
The export control act takes priority over the act relating to universities and university colleges. UiA may therefore reject applicants for positions and studies.
Which study programmes are affected?
This mainly applies to some of the education programmes at the Faculty of Engineering and Science. Where there are restrictions on admission to the programme, this will normally be stated in the course description.
