Associate Professor Jens Forus has since 2009 worked as a Solo Trumpeter in the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra at Kilden Theater and Concert House. He started playing as a 9-year-old in Sandved School Corps, which
is located in his hometown Sandnes.
Forus has his PPU (Practical Pedagogical Education -2007) and master's education (2009) from the Norwegian Academy of Music with Jonas Haltia and Ole Edvard Antonsen as his main teachers.
In addition, he has also studied in Freiburg, Germany, with Anthony Plog as main teacher.
In addition to his job in KSO, Forus has worked in several of the professional orchestras in Norway. He aapears on several records and TV recordings, among other things, he can be heard with his trumpet in the NRK series "Canada across" with Lars Monsen.
Jens Forus has been employed as a trumpet teacher in most music high schools in Sørlandet, Randesund Skolemusikk and since 2014 he has been a part-time teacher in classical trumpet at the University of Agder. He has several students privately and also teaches in English.
Forus has regular solo assignments in Sørlandet and has previously received awards and scholarships, including Sandnes Sparebank's music award (2006), Sr-bank award (2003) and Sr-bank's G9alt award (2005).
