Associate Professor Vidar Løvbrøtte is an instrument teacher in tuba at the Department of Classical Music and Music Education.
Vidar Løvbrøtte comes from Brandbu in Hadeland, Norway.
He studied at the Grieg Academy og music in Bergen with Nils Eivind Nikolaisen and Torbjörn Kvist as main instrument teachers.
Løvbrøtte got a job in the Armed Forces' music corps Sørlandet in 1997. Since 2003, he has been employed as a tuba player in the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.
Vidar has been engaged by all the Norwegian professional corps as well as the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
He teaches at the music department at Vågsbygd upper secondary school and KV Vennesla.
Løvbrøtte is involved in the voluntary music life, and has worked as conductor for Høvåg Brass, Agder Brass and Ynglingeforeningens Musikkorps.
He has been a jury member in the Young Classics competition for several years.
Vidar is Cimbasso Artist for the instrument brand Lätzsch Custom Brass.
