The Department of Nutrition and Public Health educates students in nutrition, public health and food and health in teacher education.
Some key research areas are food and nutrition in a life-course perspective, and research is done on what food means for good health and how entire generations in Norway should receive training in cooking.
The department collaborates with the business community, non-governmental organizations, schools and kindergartens in the region, both through practice in discipline studies and teacher education, and through various research projects.
