The Learning Environment Committee will assist the Board and the student welfare organisation in facilitating a good environment for studying, as well as work for improving student welfare services at the university. The committee will also help the Board in carrying out its responsibility for having a good learning environment at the university. The physical and mental work environment must be safe and adequate out of concern for the students’ health, safety and well-being.
The Learning Environment Committee at the University of Agder will bring up matters that affect the students’ total learning environment and is within the possibilities of what the university can do. The committee is especially responsible of bringing up matters about
physical environment and matters
psychosocial matters
welfare and student social matters
The Learning Environment Committee reports to the Board each year.
It is possible to submit issues that you want to be looked into and discussed to the Learning Environment Committee. Students are encouraged to report any issues to STA (the Student Organization of Agder).
The students and the university staff have three representatives each in the committee, and each year the committee elects a leader, alternating between a student representative and a staff representative. Some set observers also attend committee gatherings, such the student priest, a representative from the student welfare organisation, the university’s HSE responsible and the manager of the Office for Students with Disabilities (TSF). Observers have the right to speak and voice suggestions.
