This course aims to provide a conceptual understanding of technology supported teaching and learning at an advanced level. The topics covered include:
e-Pedagogy: online teaching methods, online tutoring & mentoring, online student support, critical perspectives on didactic/pedagogical/learning designs and flipped classroom approaches
Emergent technologies, tools, standards and specifications for digital learning resources and electronic learning systems
Virtual and media rich collaborative learning and virtual interactions (student-student, student-teacher)
Mobile learning, visualization, animation and game elements in education
Assessment: assessment for learning, assessment of learning, digital assessment systems, feedback mechanisms, assessment task formats
Teaching and learning with social media
This course has a minimum of 50% formal teaching (lectures and seminars). Learners are expected to study all compulsory articles (“papers”) through lectures and seminars. They are also required to do self-study based on selected content from the “textbooks” given on the last page of this document.
