Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Specialization – Knowledge Management and Collaboration Strategies
Bjørn-Tore is an assistant professor at the University of Agder’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, specializing in international management, organizational behaviour, and knowledge management. He is expected to defend his doctoral dissertation on Internet-enabled collaboration within and beyond firms on the 1st of April 2011. He is a former graduate of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen.During the last few years, he has been engaged in teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in international management, marketing, entrepreneurship and organizational behaviour.
Prior to joining UiA, he served as a unit manager with personnel and training responsibilities, managing international educational tours for groups of 150 people involving cross-cultural exchanges, in a major Norwegian non-profit organization. In addition, he is an experienced consultant in projects involving organizational structure and design, change, re-structuring, and building of compensation and evaluation schemes in different industries. He is currently serving as a team member of a large scale pan-Nordic project funded by the Nordic Innovation Center and focusing on how an can SMEs use virtual worlds to enhance competitiveness.
Jan Inge has been a professor of entrepreneurship and innovation studies at the University of Agder since 2005, and is the founder and director of the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship. He holds a PhD from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH), and has a long record of engagement in research projects in areas such as entrepreneurship, innovation in small knowledge intensive firms, goal directed management, innovation in shipping, and the European maritime cluster. He sits in a number of professorship and associate professorship evaluation committees, serves as an opponent for PhD candidates at Bodø Graduate School of Business, as well as advising PhD dissertations at the University of Agder and Bodø Graduate School of Business.
He has a long publication record in a variety of national and international journals, primarily in the area of entrepreneurship including – the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Journal of Entrepreneurship Behaviour and Research, International Journal of Innovation Management, International Journal of Maritime Economics, and Journal of Entrepreneurship, to name a few. Moreover, he is a lead editor in one of Norway’s most used texts on Entrepreneurship – Perspektiver på Entreprenørskap (2006).
Specialization – International Marketing, Strategy and e-Business
Rotem is an assistant professor at the University of Agder’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, specializing in the internationalization process of the firm in general, and small firms’ internationalization in particular, as well as international marketing, branding management, and e-business. He is expected to defend his Doctoral dissertation on Internet-enabled internationalization on the 30th of May 2011. He is a former graduate of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen.
During the last few years he has been instrumental in guiding and supervising groups preparing business plans for small Norwegian firms as part of the UiA-Innovation Norway joint entrepreneurship and internationalization labs. He has industry experience from working with an international consultancy helping entrepreneurial firms’ international market development. As part of his work at UiA, he is actively involved in teaching various courses in the areas of international marketing, international strategy, e-business, consumer behaviour and entrepreneurship, as well as in supervising master thesis projects. His latest publications include articles in the Journal of Product and Brand Management, Cross-Cultural Management: An International Journal, and the e-Business Review/Journal of e-Commerce, as well as a book chapter on small firm internationalization.
Erik is member of the team and Chief of Operations at the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Agder in Kristiansand, Norway. Erik started his first small company at the university while he was studying economics in Hamburg, Germany. He has held different positions in marketing and branding in different European countries and companies throughout the years and has been involved in several start ups. He has been involved as partner and as External Evaluator in several international Entrepreneurship Research Projects funded by EU-bodies, NICe and others. He has also been engaged in building up a regional early stage Venture fund, investing in technology and creative industry. Erik has great links with a wide range of companies and organizations in Norway and to international patners. Erik has Board Positions in Business and Community.He is a great fan of handball, other sports and outdoor activities in every season of the year.
