Mahidol University, College of Music is situated in Salaya, west of central Bangkok. The university was established in 1994 and is recognized as the number one institution for Music studies in South-East Asia. It offers programmes in traditional, classical and rhythmical music at bachelor, master and PhD level.
The Salaya campus is home to 30 000 students, of whom 1500 study Music. The College of Music comprise of 4 main buildings, fully equipped for teaching and learning on all levels. Among the facilities are auditoriums, theatre halls, eight ensemble rooms, 120 individual rehearsal facilities, 80 individual teaching studios, lecture rooms, Audio-visual rooms, MIDI labs, Music Therapy and Music Business labs, three recording studios, an instrument workshop, etc.
The College of Music is a beautiful, natural campus, with more thatn 15 trees â used for the production of instruments across South-East Asia. There are shops and a restaurant on campus, and a shuttle bus connects the University area with the Bangkok BTS Skytrain.
