Vederhus works at the Addiction Unit, Sørlandet Hospital, Norway and have 20+ years of clinical practice in the SUD treatment field. His thesis described a Twelve step facilitation study on the local detoxification ward. He is involved in several research project closely related to the clinical practice at the hospital, e.g., drop-out from SUD treatment, quality of life studies, alcohol use assessment on medical wards, co-dependency and SUD treatment outcome research.

Data will be collected among close relatives of patients with a substance use disorder (SUD) enrolled in a psychoeducation program at the Addiction Unit, Sørlandet Hospital, Kristiansand, Norway. These data will be compared with an online data collection among the general public.
