Leona is interested in what it means to be human in the digital age.
Her research focuses on how people use information systems for work and leisure and in particular how the technologies should be designed to provide people with support, pleasure, and security. She examines legacy and emerging technologies, such as decision support systems, digital companions, non-fungible tokens, and immersive technologies, as well as innovative ways of appropriating these technologies, such as virtual wine tasting, hybrid experience, and digital offering design.
Her research has been recognized with several awards:
Her service to the community of Information Systems research includes the following:
Leona is the research lead for the Department of Information Systems. Check out IT IS AGDER, our research speaker series on established and emerging Information Systems topics.
