I am a PhD research fellow from Nepal working at the Department of Information Systems. My project focuses on Smart Villages and its relation to sustainable rural development. I come with an academic background in media studies and development studies from Kathmandu University, Nepal.
In my research, I am interested in rural ICT4D projects and initiatives, using Action Research methods to identify problems and construct meaningful and problem solving interventions with practioners and local communities. Rural ICT4D projects are those ICT and information systems enabled projects with the aim to achieve transformational change for rural population and communities. I believe as ICT4D researchers we should be more than distant observers but active participants who help facilitate and shape ICT4D interventions with webs of local and global actors.
