I research materials that can convert energy from one type to another and that will be the cornerstones in a future fully electrified society; batteries, fuel cells, solar cells and thermoelectrics
Through our research we want to reduce cost in producing and using such solutions, with particlar forcus on degradation mechanisms and lifetime. The utilisation of these energy materials are often capital intensive at installation, and predictable and long lifetime is very important to achieve higher penetration of renewable energy solutions.
Circular economy is also an import part of what we are doing, by making sure that our precoious energy and materials are utilised efficiently with minimum losses through the value chain. One example is how we do a lot of research on reuse and recycling of Li-ion batteries from electric vehicles.
In general, I'm interested in a sustainable production and use of materials to work towards a more resource and energy efficient future. This is the red line through all our research on energy materials.
