Hilde Inntjore is Vice-Rector for Education for the period 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2027.
As Vice-Rector, she works for the continued good quality and relevance of our programmes, with the further development and visibility of UiA's programme of study, and to help ensure that education and research are seen as closely linked.
Inntjore has worked at UiA since 1999. She knows the higher education sector well and has a large network, both nationally and internationally. Inntjore is socially involved and has great faith in education as a tool for creating a good society. Therefore, she believes it is important that our programmes are adapted to both current and future society. She is visionary, strategic and systematic in her approach, also to complex matters.
Between 2020 and 2023, she was dean of the teacher education at UiA and led one of the largest programmes at the university. As dean, Inntjore was chair of the board of the Teacher Education Unit at UiA, and she is deputy chair of the board of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Humanities at the University of Stavanger. In addition, she is the leader of several steering groups for various initiatives and projects, a board member of MatRiC, Centre for Excellence in Education at UiA, and also holds national positions.
Inntjore initiated and led the work for the creation of the Gender, Power and Diversity programme at UiA, and was central to the establishment of UiA's annual Gender Equality Conference and the launch of the Centre for Gender and Equality. Her background is a combination of professional and academic education. Inntjore is a qualified teacher with a major in sport and also has a background in history. She has a graduate degree from the University of Oslo in 1998 and a doctorate from the University of Bergen in 2018 with a thesis on the diocese of Stavanger in the period 1250-1500.
