Magnus Hellström is Associate Professor in project and supply chain management at the Department for Working Life and Innovation at the School of Business and Law at University of Agder. He earned his doctorate degree in industrial management from Åbo Akademi University, Finland, and an M.Sc. in chemical engineering from the same university.
Magnus Hellström has pursued a career in industry both prior to and during his academic engagement, among others stationed on global construction sites in India, Brazil and Poland.
Magnus' research interests revolve around new business models in the project-based industry, such as ones based on modularization, servitization, collaborative business practices, digitalisation, and sustainability. Publishing in a variety of fields, Magnus Hellström's work has appeared in journals such as: Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, and International Journal of Project Management.
In addition to his academic work, Magnus Hellström has been consulting a number of large and medium sized technology companies. In connection to his consulting work, he has been actively popularizing his research and authored booklets on modularization and solutions selling.
Magnus Hellström is the leader of the scientific council of Project Management Association Finland (an official member association of the International Project Management Association, IPMA).
