As a student, Microsoft365 is granted to you. It includes Word, Powerpoint, OneDrive storage and Teams. It is important that you read all e-mail that is sent from UiA to your student e-mail adresss. We recommend you to install Outlook on your PC/Mac and your phone.
AppsAnywhere is a program that virtualizes programs on your machine.It gives you access to licensed software from UiA on your PC/Mac. It can be compared to a streaming service, like Spotify or Netflix, only for software.
After you are registered as a student and have paid the semester fee, you can make use of this digital student ID. This gives you the opportunity to make use of student discounts. Some stores only accept apps, so it may be smart to download.
SiA Studentliv
This app has collected most services that SiA has to offer; events, SiA Book, SiA Housing, SiA Health, as well as other offers connected to the student environment.
Mazemap
It can be difficult to find your way around campus. In the app, you get an overview of UiA, as well as most study centres in Norway. Enter the room number and "Mazemap" will show you the way.
OneDrive
With this app you can easily scan notes, books and documents with your camera, and thereafter save them as a PDF on your OneDrive account, which you get as a student at UiA. Log in with your username@uia.no and password.
Canvas
With "Canvas", you get an overview of the subjects you will have, and all-important messages are also there. You can also find the syllabus, assignments, and submission folders in the app.
Calendar
It may be a good idea to use a calendar app, so that you can more easily get an overview of teaching, assignments, and deadlines. It is easy to get overwhelmed when there is a lot going on. With, for example, "Google calendar" or "Timetable", you can keep track of your tasks to a greater extent.
Forest
Forest is an app you can use to increase your focus while you study in intervals of half an hour. There are many more applications that can help you manage your time, like for example “Flow – Pomodoro Timer” or “Hold”.
Student economy
Bookis
"Bookis" is an online bookstore that allows you to buy and sell used books. Here you can get the course books you need at a reduced price.
Food offers
As a student, you would like to save money where possible. There are several different food offer apps, where you get an overview of all offers at the common supermarkets. For example, you can test out the apps "Mattilbud", "eTilbudsavis" or "Kupp".
Student discounts
You have some advantages as a student. With the apps "Studentkortet" and "Studentkalender app" you get an overview of all student discounts.
TooGoodToGo
Here you will find an overview of eateries and shops that sell leftovers. It can be, for example, buns, baguettes, or a surprise package. With "TooGoodToGo", you therefore get the chance to grab good food for a reasonable price.

Entur
It is not always easy to know how to get around in a new city. With "Entur" you can find all of Norway's public transport services, which give you travel suggestions to where you want to go.
AKT Reise (Travel) and AKT Billett (Ticket)
The local and regional buses are operated by Agder Kollektivtrafikk (AKT). Download these apps to watch the updated departure and arrival time of buses by the minute, or to buy tickets. You can scan the QR code from your active ticket on the scanner in all buses. If you want to purchase a physical card for usage of longer periods, ask on the bus (or their headquarters in downtown Kristiansand) and the driver can activate it for you.
If you are a Norwegian resident and register in Grimstad or Kristiansand municipality, the municipalities offer you free bus cards for the study year. More information can be found here.
