Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, the candidate should:
Be familiar with the technical priciples of photography and the technology behind the digital camera.
Master a DSLR camera in manual mode.
Within chosen fields of motives be able to take pictures with a professional touch.
Be able to assess the technical and contentual quality of a photograph.
Implement a digital workflow from the picture is taken through shown on screen.
Contents
Theoretical background and image critique, which, among other things, should be able to enable students to assess the quality of a photograph. Different methods and techniques for photography in different situations. A selection of the following topics will be covered: workflow, studio and product photography, reportage photography, landscape / nature photography, portrait photography, panorama, digital image enhancement.
Teaching and learning methods
Lectures and field- and studio-work. Compulsory assignments.
Expected student workload in the course is approximately 135 hours.
Examination requirements
Compulsory assignments must be approved in order to take the examination. Information about compulsory assignments will be given in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Information about the content of the portfolio will be given in Canvas by the start of the semester. There will not be arranged a postponed exam for the portfolio.
Student evaluation
The person responsible for the course decides, in cooperation with student representative, the form of student evaluation and whether the course is to have a midway or end of course evaluation in accordance with the quality system for education, chapter 4.1.
