Governing Urban Dvelopment in Nroway: Social Networks and decsion making in urban road projects in Kristiansand Municiplality.

My PhD research investigates the networks of actors in urban transport decision making in Norwegian Municipalities using Kristiansand as a cases study. My study makes use of Social Network Analysis (SNA) to map out the networks of actors and how those networks the planning process in the municipality. This involves the collection and analysis of network data through interviews (concentric circles and network maps with respondents) and document studies. This study seeks to contribute to the literature on planning and implementation challenges at the local level and to our understanding of the challenges of ecological, social, and economic sustainability. It also highlights governance problems and issues of inequality, inclusion, and transparency and opens up discussions on how to create and implement policies that help reduce inequalities in cities and contribute to sustainable urban development.
