Hossein Baharmand

Hossein Baharmand er førsteamanuensis i prosjektledelse og verdikjedestyring ved Handelshøyskolen ved Universitetet i Agder (UiA). Han er studieprogrameleder for master i industriell økonomi og teknologiledelse. Med en bakgrunn i industriell ingeniørvitenskap har Hossein en doktorgrad i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi fra UiA.

Ved UiA underviser han i emnet IND416-G: Prosjektplanlegging og ledelse (7,5 ECTS) og har ansvaret for IND590-G: Masteroppgave. I løpet av vårsemesteret veileder han vanligvis 2-3 masterstudenter på emner relatert til hans ekspertise og forskningsinteresser.

Hosseins forskning utforsker skjæringspunktet mellom teknologi og driftsledelse, med et særlig fokus på humanitær bistand. Han samarbeider tett med humanitære arbeidere, og hans artikler har blitt publisert i ledende OM/OR-tidsskrifter som International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM), Computers in Industry (CII), International Journal of Production Research (IJPR), Transportation Research Part E (TRE), og Annals of Operations Research (ANOR), samt topp tverrfaglige tidsskrifter som Technology in Society (TIS) og International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (IJDRR).

Som en blandet metodeforsker bruker Dr. Baharmand ofte intervjuer, spørreundersøkelser og fokusgrupper for datainnsamling. Han anvender trygt innholdsanalyse, matematisk modellering, systemdynamikk og agentbasert modellering for dataanalyse.

Hossein er medleder for forskningsklyngen "Technology Support for Humanitarian Aid" ved UiAs Senter for integrert krisehåndtering (Centre for Integrated Emergency Management - CIEM), som har vært et prioritert forskningssenter ved UiA siden 2021. Internasjonalt tjener Dr. Baharmand som publikasjons- og standardstol ved det lærde samfunnet Informasjonssystemer for krisehåndtering og -ledelse (Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management - ISCRAM). Han er også områderedaktør ved Operations Management Research-tidsskriftet og har vært gjesteredaktør for spesialutgaver av Information and Technology Management (ITM) og IJDRR.

For øyeblikket leder Dr. Baharmand forskningsprosjektet DigCBA: Ansvarlig bruk av digital kontantbasert bistand for flyktningkriser. Finansiert av Forskningsrådet i Norge (2021-2024), er DigCBA et treårig prosjekt innenfor temaet global utvikling. Tidligere ledet han vellykket og leverte forskningsprosjektet CONTRA: COVID-19 Teknologibasert responsiv handling, som også ble finansiert av Forskningsrådet i Norge (2020-2022).
