Jing Zhou er professor i mekatronikk, forskningsdirektør av Toppforskingssenteret i Mekatronikk, og leder for gruppen robotikk og automasjon ved Universititet i Agder. Hun er Ph.D. (2006) i teknisk kybernetikk ved Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Hun har tidligere jobbet som seniorforsker i International Research Institute of Stavanger (NORCE) og Postdoc. i Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet (NTNU).
Hennes forskning er innen modellering, simulering og kontroll av mekaniske systemer med anvendelser innen automatisert produksjon, robotteknikk, offshore mekatronikk, boring og brønnteknologi, offhore energi, og undervannsteknologi.
