Sissel Heidi Helland

I am a member of the priority research center Lifecourse Nutrition, which focuses on food and nutrition in the early stages of life. My scientific work revolves around food and meals in early childhood education and care (ECEC): particularly focusing on preschool children,with a special emphasis on food neophobia and food preferences and food courage, the staffs food- and meal practices in ECEC, and the implementation of health-promoting and educational interventions, including the Sapere method.

I serve as the program coordinator for specialization in food and meal in ECEC teacher education, as well as for the continuing education course: Food and Meals in ECEC, for Teachers.
