It is important that you, who are going to take the exam, have functional equipment and network at home. It is also crucial that you check and test everything well in advance of the exam. This is to ensure that you can receive the best possible assistance from UiA in case you encounter any issues.
Checklist for those taking the oral exam from home:
Make yourself familiar with examination date and other information
You'll find the date for each exam on Studentweb and under Examination dates. If you have questions, contact eksamen@uia.no.
Make sure your computer fulfils the required standards
All students must have their own laptop for use in teaching and examinations. Make yourself familiar with UiA's computer requirements. Make sure that you have installed all the latest updates on your computer before the examination day.
Check connection to the internet
Check if your computer is connected to the internet. If you have a good mobile network connection, it can be useful to set up an option for connecting to a mobile network from your PC as a back-up solution. Please note that additional charges may apply, depending on your mobile subscription package.
If you have questions before the examination, contact help@uia.no.
Check your UiA sign-in
Use your ordinary UiA-username and password to log on to your exam. Make sure that you have a valid password. If you are able to log on to Fronter with your Feide-password, then everything is in order.
Use Zoom before the examination and check if the video quality is good enough. If not, there might be a problem with upload speed. Use Speedtest.net. The upload speed should not be under 1.5 Mbps.
Contact your internet provider if you have any problems with the upload speed.
The student must present a valid photo ID before the exam takes place.
Recording of the exam is not allowed.
We expect that you follow the steps from the checklist before the examinations. If you still experience problems on the examination day:
Have your mobile phone with you, as important messages to students are often sent as text messages. You can also receive phone calls if you need assistance with sign-in or other problems.
There will be a link to chat available in Inspera which you can use to ask for help.
If you experience loss of the internet connection during the examination, you can try to connect to the mobile network (see the instructions above). Be aware that this may incur additional expenses.
