Udannet sykepleier ved Haugesund Sjukepleierhøgskole (1990) med videreutdanning i operasjonssykepleie ved Haukeland Sykehus (2000). Master i Helsefag ved Universitetet i Agder (2012) og Praktisk Pedagogisk utdanning ved Universitetet i Agder (2014). Videre doktorgrad i bruk av interprofesjonell simulerings- basert læring brukt i utdanning av operasjonssykepleiestudenter fra Universitetet i Agder 2023.

Hovedsakelig klinisk erfaring i fra operasjonsavdelingen ved Sørlandet Sykehus Kristiansand (2001-2011) og som høgskolelektor i videreutdanning av operasjonssykepleiere ved Lovisenberg Diakonale Høgskole (2015-2018). Videre universitetslektor ved Universitetet i (Agder 2018-2023.)
