The three-year Bachelor Programme in Multimedia gives the student the necessary skills in technology and design to master a wide range of the new media. The program gives the technological knowledge necessary for creating multimedia content for the web, video and cellular phones, 2D and 3D graphics, sound and programming. The program ends with a bachelor project which normally consists of a complete multimedia production.
The bachelor project is normally carried out in the Spring semester. On application, the Faculty may approve that some students carry out their bachelor project in the Autumn semester. This is given that the student meets all the prerequisites, and that there are available supervisors.

KNOWLEDGE
On successful completion of the study programme, the students will:
SKILLS
The candidate is able to apply and adapt knowledge to solve theoretical, technical and practical problems in innovation, problem formulation, analysis, specification, solution generation, evaluation, selection and reporting.
Graduates from the Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Technology and Design will have the skills necessary to create interactive and functional multimedia products of high quality both technically and content wise.
On successful completion of the study programme, the students will:
GENERAL COMPETENCE
The candidate can identify, plan and implement multimedia projects, assignments, tests and experiments, both independently and in teams.
The graduate will be able to work independently and in teams, and to disseminate problems and solutions orally and in writing in technical as well as in more general contexts.
The candidate is aware of environmental, ethical and economic implications of information technology products and solutions, and has the ability to see them both in a local and a global lifespan perspective.
The language of teaching is normally Norwegian. Some courses may be taught in other Scandinavian languages, or English. The course curriculum is mainly in English, and resources in English like videos, technical data sheets and articles, are used.
The programme gives students opportunity to take the 5th and/or 6th semester of the programme at partner universities abroad. Credits awarded at the foreign university may be transferred into the student´s programme at UiA.
In order to become an exchange student, the courses/thesis work that the student is planning to undertake at the foreign institution, must be given a preliminary approval by the student´s programme manager at UiA, and a Learning Agreement must be signed with the International Education Office. The Faculty of Engineering and Science has a large number of partner universities with which the student exchange can be arranged in an efficient manner, for example in Austria, USA and Australia.
The graduate will be able to work with all aspects of digital media including audio, text, graphics, animation, video and interactivity. The student will have the skills necessary to produce a complete multimedia production for the Internet as well as for off-line applications. Such skills are needed within a wide range of industries and public services.
Graduates from the Bachelor's Programme in Multimedia Technology and Design may apply to the Master's Programme in Multimedia and Educational Technology at UiA, or similar study programmes in Norway or abroad.
Together with the students the university regularly arranges trips abroad for the students to visit relevant firms and universities. These trips are voluntarily and not a requirement in the study programme. The students must cover the expenses of the trip themselves.
If a student gets the opportunity to work with a company in their location, or if a student chooses to work together with a company in a course, the student will have to cover the travel expenses.
